Over the course of our church’s over 150-year history, we’ve gone through a handful of building projects. Two due to our church building burning down, and one to expand our church’s footprint as we were outgrowing the building we had.

Recently we’re experiencing that outgrowing feeling again and so we’ve started looking into what we can do to make sure we’re prepared for the future we see on the near horizon.

Expansion plan

  • The Reveal

Over the past few years our attendance has been growing consistently and rapidly. Our council came to an understanding that, should this growth continue, we would need more space to handle all the ministries and opportunities that a growing congregation brings.

In November of 2021, we held a meeting to reveal the proposed building project. During this meeting, we released a primer video featuring interview footage from a handful of leaders in the church past and present.

  • The Vote

We created an informational packet for the congregation to look over. That way, when it came to a vote, everyone would be aware of what the rough plan was. So everyone could truly vote as their informed conscience drove them to.

On December 5 of 2021, we held a vote with the congregation. The project passed with a 93% yes and we are still ecstatic about the clear unity that shows for the future of Munster Church.

  • The Funding

We’re rounding the corner on our fundraising for the project. The total cost sits budgeted and estimated around $5M and the council wants to see the better part of that paid up front.

After May 1, 2022, we’ll give another update on the state of the project. Before then, if you’re interested and willing in helping support the growth of Munster Church and it’s ministry potential, please prayerfully consider visiting our Welcome Center and filling out a pledge card!
